Skalakot Manor Hotel is a new luxury country hotel run by fourth generation farmers in Skalakot farm. The interior design echoes the Art Deco style of luxury and modernism where visual arts and architecture come together in an atmosphere of romance, wellbeing and relaxation. Skalakot Manor Hotel is a family run business with focus on personal service and the original Skalakot farm is next door to the Skalakot Manor Hotel where they also offer horseback riding tours.
South Iceland Area
Skalakot Manor Hotel area is very rich of stunning sites and areas like Thorsmork nature reserve, the famous south coast with it’s black sand beaches and waterfalls, Vestmannaeyjar islands, Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers and of course the stunning highlands of Fjallabak. Skalakot Manor Hotel offers 14 rooms with 1 master suite, 1 mini suite, 6 grand double rooms, 4 Standard Double rooms and 2 standard single rooms. All the suites and rooms offer large HDTV’s, free wireless Internet access, hair dryer, tea kettle, bathrobes and a nice collection of bathroom amenities. The suites and Grand rooms additionally have Nespresso coffee machines.
Location
Skalakot Manor Hotel is located in south Iceland under Eyjafjoll mountains and Eyjafjallajokull glacier and volcano that erupted in 2010. Next town is Hvolsvollur which is 30 min. drive away and Vik town is 40 min. drive. The location is absolutely fantastic due to the fact that so many beautiful sites and areas are so close.
Standard
Owners of Skalakot Manor Hotel do not use stars but if stars are needed our experience says it’s a 4 star hotel.
Restaurant
Skalakot Manor Hotel serves breakfast in the restaurant where you can also dine a la carte where fresh and local ingredients always play the main role.
