Egilsen Small Luxury Hotel
Hotel Egilsen with its classic heritage, sports the best of modern design with the guest lounge being the heart of the hotel. Egilsen Hotel was renovated in 2012 and can be best described as a modern boutique hotel enrich with history. It was designed with both the past and the present in mind making sure that the dialog between those two are overt.
A part of the beautiful Breiðafjörður bay which is known for its numerous islands and diverse wildlife. Hotel Egilsen is easy to find being one of the older and more distinctive buildings in Stykkishólmur.
Stykkishólmur Area
As mentioned above, Hotel Egilsen is located in the Stykkishólmur village, a gateway to the endless number of islands in the Breiðafjörður bay. Every service one could need is in walking distance from the hotel, such as museums, restaurants, swimming pool and last but not least, the beautiful harbour. The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is sometimes called the miniature of Iceland and is a paradise for the geologist. Amongst the most popular sites and activites in the area are:

Egilsen is spread across three floors and has a total of ten rooms. There are two single rooms, 3 standard double rooms, 3 superior double rooms and 2 superior twin rooms. The interiors of the rooms are inspired by the sea and fishing which has been the town’s main industry for ages.
Location
Hotel Egilsen is located in the small fishing town Stykkishólmur at the Northern part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It takes around 2.5 hours to get to Stykkishólmur village from the capital city, Reykjavík.

Restaurant
Hotel Egilsen does not have a restaurant on site but in walking distance there are a few good options to dine at. The restaurants that are located in the small town of Stykkishólmur are Sjávarpakkhúsið, Narfeyrastofa and Skúrinn to name a few.
