Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is a recently built modern style hotel in the area of Hnappavellir in southeast Iceland. It is conveniently located for trips to the Jokulsárlon Glacier Lagoon as well as roundtrips around the island.
Glacier Lagoon Area
The area around Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is dominated by Vatnajokull Glacier Europe’s largest glacier. Jokulsárlon glacier lagoon and Skaftafell area in The Vatnajokull National Park are 25 minutes away by car in each direction. The nature is stark with ice and mountains on one side and the ocean on the other side. Large areas of wasteland where the effects of numerous glacial floods and eruptions are evident. Near the hotel there are a number of activties and sites to try and/or visit like:

Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is a recently built modern hotel located in Southeast Iceland about a 25 minute drive west of the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Next town is Hofn 1 ½ hour drive to the east. From Reykjavik it takes nearly 5 hours straight driving along Iceland’s south coast.
